March 2008

Dear Legacy Christian Academy parents,

For an administrative team to be successful, it is imperative that they take a “time out” from the game and revisit their purpose and mission. Every winter, the Sunshine/Legacy leadership team takes a break from their daily demands, and spends three days reviewing past triumphs and missteps, discussing current successes and concerns, and envisioning the future – with all of its challenges and opportunities.

On February 20th, 21st and 22nd, our administrative team headed to the local mountains to strategize and continue refining their leadership skills. With the upcoming addition of Legacy Junior High, and the ongoing challenges of running quality elementary school and after school in the increasingly crowded Santa Clarita Valley, there was plenty to discuss – and lots to learn.

The bottom line is that no matter what challenges and opportunities we face down the road, we will continue to be student-centered, where our students remain our top priority. Every program that we create, every class that we teach and every after school activity we plan will be accomplished with this priority in mind. Maintaining a focus on our students keeps us centered, and allows us to move forward with confidence.

We had a particularly productive meeting last month, and also had some time for fun and “bonding.” I am proud of our administrative team. Their priorities are in order, they are always eager to learn more, and they have their students’ best interests in their hearts. I couldn’t ask for anything more.

In His Service,
