Character

One of the most unique aspects of Legacy Christian Academy is its "Character Education" component, which Founders Tim and Donna Borruel personally developed 17 years ago. This character curriculum is built into the very fabric of Legacy Christian Academy, teaching children personal responsibility, respect for others and the value of compassion and caring. Each month, our entire school focuses on a particular character trait.

Building Character

At Legacy Christian Academy, we provide an environment that emphasizes the teaching and appreciation of good moral character. Some of the traits we focus on include selflessness, responsibility, patriotism, generosity, diligence, attentiveness and respect - traits that we hope will become an integral part of a child's character for a lifetime. Each trait is reinforced in the classroom and out on the playground. When children display this character trait, they are verbally encouraged by their peers and teachers. We ask parents to focus on these character lessons at home as well - providing children with consistency from the school to the home environment and giving them invaluable parenting tools. For example, parents can remind their child to be a "first-time listener" at home (the " attentiveness" trait), as well as demonstrate generosity and respect for others.
