Music

Legacy provides a well-rounded music program encompassing instruction in theory, history and music appreciation. Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionistic and Contemporaray styles are studied with emphasis on composers of each era and their masterworks. Each student performs in a staged musical production and has ample opportunity for creative expression in classroom performances. The recorder is introduced in third grade. Instrumental music may be offered for upper grade students as part of an after school extra-curricular program.

The Foreign Language curriculum at Legacy enables students to explore and appreciate the Spanish language and culture. Students develop listening, speaking, and reading proficiency of basic Spanish vocabulary and grammar. An ample variety of classroom activities encourage the enjoyment of the Spanish language.
