Conduct Expectations

Standards of conduct have been established at Legacy Private Academy to promote an effective learning environment, to develop self-discipline in the lives of students and to teach obedience to authority. These standards have been developed for the protection of students and the orderly operation of the classroom. Students are asked to abide by all conduct expectations both on and off the campus of Legacy.

• Students will refrain from swearing, using vulgar language or off-color jokes, telling dirty jokes and using any other inappropriate language.
• Lying, cheating, stealing, plagiarism or any dishonest acts or attempts to deceive will not be tolerated and will result in immediate disciplinary action.
• Students are asked to be courteous and respect the rights and property of other students, as well as school-owned property.
• Students are not allowed to leave campus without permission at any time. Any student who skips a class or leaves campus without authorization will be considered truant and will be dealt with accordingly.
• Legacy is a closed campus; friends from other schools may not come to visit while school is in session.
• Fighting, pushing, shoving, threatening, intimidating, or harassing others in any form will not be tolerated.
• Students are not allowed to bring radios, tape recorders, "Walkmans, " playing cards, dice, matches, lighters, fireworks, firearms or knives to school or to any school-sponsored activities.
• Students are not allowed to be in any classroom unless a teacher is present. All items on the teacher's desk are private and are not to be looked at or touched.
• Students are expected to sit quietly in the classroom during class time and to completely cooperate with all expectations of the teacher. Disruptive behavior will result in disciplinary action.
• A poor attitude, griping, lack of cooperation, or defiant behavior will result in suspension from Legacy. If this brings no clear change in behavior or attitude, the student may be expelled from school.
• Legacy Private Academy students will not be permitted to have boy/girl "physical" contact on the campus or at any school event. We will discourage " romantic" relationships between students because of their young age and because of the distractions they can cause to the learning process.
