Dear Parents, Welcome to Legacy Christian Academy!
We believe that the most important years of a child’s education begin at the elementary school level and continue on into junior high school. It is here that a child must master basic academic skills, or he/she will have no foundation on which to build. At Legacy Christian Academy, we strive to instill a love for learning, along with a strong academic foundation. Our Academy is unique because of three reasons:
1. We offer a well-established, sequential and proven curriculum Legacy Christian Academy is a traditional school appealing to parents seeking a strong, established curriculum for their child’s education. The Legacy curriculum meets or exceeds the California Content Standards for all academic areas. Since Legacy’s inception, students have averaged scores around the 90th percentile on nationally normed standardized tests, proving our students are achieving nationally recognized milestones in educational achievement. A more detailed description of our curriculum is presented in this brochure.
2. We offer enrichment classes in art, music, PE, Spanish, and computer technology Legacy provides a well-rounded curriculum that includes many of the “extras” that are not offered in most schools today. Specialty teachers introduce your child to the world of music and art. A well-equipped computer lab provides students with an in-depth study of technology. Our Spanish teacher helps our students develop a basic listening and speaking vocabulary of the Spanish language. Our PE program emphasizes physical fitness and the skills needed to play team and individual sports. Our Science Lab generates student inquiry and active investigation.
3. We provide a distinctly Christian education that encourages children to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to develop a Christian worldview through the application of God’s Word in all areas of life Legacy provides an environment that emphasizes the teaching and appreciation of God’s Word as it applies to students’ studies and to their character. Teachers strive to integrate the Bible in all the major subject areas as well as model Christ-likeness in their own behavior. In addition, Legacy’s character education program focuses on monthly character traits that are reinforced through Bible verses, classroom activities, and role playing. Regular service projects enable students to experience the application of these character traits.
